London | Berlin

I am an urban researcher and planner, and work as Assistant Head of School at the University of Westminster's School of Architecture and Cities, alongside my position as Senior Lecturer. In this role, I have responsibility for a range of school-level matters, including coordinating our planning offer (for more information about my academic work, see my academic homepage, my Google Scholar profile or my curriculum vitae).

I am also active beyond academia, writing for non-academic audiences and working as a consultant or advisor to public, private, and non-profit organisations engaged in urban and tourism development, planning, and policy. These activities can easily fall by the wayside amidst day-to-day university life, and it was largely to give them a proper home that I set up this website.

Born and raised in Cologne into a family with strong ties to – and roots in – Vienna and Berlin, I have studied and worked in Germany, Italy, Austria, and the United States, among other places. New York, in particular, holds a deep sense of connection for me, having spent formative years there, and these days I consider London and Berlin my home.

Whether you are in these cities or elsewhere, if you would like to get in touch with me, you can do so here!
