Urban planning | politics | tourism London | Berlin

I am an urban researcher and planner and work as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster’s School of Architecture and Cities.

The work at the university - among other things, I coordinate our School’s Master in Urban and Regional Planning - occupies a lot of my time (for more information about my academic work, see my academic homepage, my Google Scholar profile or my curriculum vitae).

However, I am also active outside academia, for example as a freelance writer, curator, consultant and occasional (and enthusiastic!) tour guide. Although the boundaries between academic and non-academic activities are of course by no means clear-cut, it was mainly because of these facets of my work, which can often fall by the wayside amidst day-to-day university life, that I set up this website.

Born and raised in Cologne into a family with strong ties and roots to Vienna and Berlin, I have studied and/or worked in the US and Italy, among other places, and these days consider London and Berlin my home.

In fact, there is a good chance that I am in one of these two cities as you read this. Does this also apply to you and would you like to meet for a coffee? Would you like to collaborate with me, and/or do you have a specific project that you would like to bring to my attention?

Whatever the case, you are welcome to contact me!
