London tops Europe’s “best cities” ranking – here’s why you shouldn’t be bothered

A new study claims that London is the "best city" in Europe. Really? Make no mistake, I love London - I have made it my home for a reason - but as I explain in a new opinion piece for City Monitor, I'm nonetheless not convinced. In it, I argue that judging cities on a few factors deemed "important" by a few is generally questionable, and that city rankings based on superficial metrics like convention centre size or the number of millionaires and Instagram hashtags are utter nonsense as well as clickbait for the consultancies that produce them.
